VICTOR ZUBELDIA (Oaxaca, Mexico, 1971)

Through my work I look to accentuate shadows and shades while dealing with content that questions the human condition and the nature of faith, god and man.

Though my early work was heavily inspired by the Mexican images of my youth, culminating in the publication of my book “La Llorona, the wailing woman,” based on the Mexican song and legend, I am more recently reconsidering my questions with broader and more culturally diverse imagery.

This movement reflects the changes in my personal environment, namely country of residence, which include the U.S., Mexico, and Brazil.
