The present project displays a series of 40 paintings and drawings that illustrate 40 verses of the traditional Mexican song: La Llorona (The Wailing Woman).
The complete works, including the original images and the editorial design for the seubsequents publication of an illustrated book, were elaborated with an award from FOESCA, the Oaxacan State Fund for Arts and Culture.
In October of 2000, the series of paintings were exhibited at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts in San Francisco.

In February, 2003 the first edition of the book "La Llorona, the Wailing Woman" was issued. The book was available only in Mexico, at the Instituto Oaxaqueño de las Culturas; the artist and editorial team are looking for international distribution.
